About Me

George Downing & John Bowers
Saint John, NB, Canada, Canada
I'm in my late sixties and learnt Morse Code & About Ham Radio while having served in the Royal Canadian Air Force many years ago, as I was a fully trained Military Radio Operator And Communications Technician. Another chap John Bowers also helps me with thoughts, questions and Story Ideas relating to this Blog Site. John as well is an old time Sparky & Ham Radio Operator as well. He is 72 years of age. And also lives in the same building as I. John & I were both early members of the Ham Radio Club here in Saint John New Brunswick. The Loyalist Amateur Radio Club, Call Sign VE1EE. I live in a very nice Retirement Complex in the East End of Saint. And I use an indoor active antenna both for short wave radio & ham radio listening. When I was taught Morse Code now sometimes referred to as CW, I and others had to be able to receive it and type it out just as fast at the same time. I wonder how many of today's operators can do that ?
